A Kid's Project: How to Make a T-Rex

When children think of dinosaurs, the mighty T-Rex is most often the first one that comes to mind. Creating a Tyrannosaurus Rex out of common items such as printer paper and an empty toilet paper roll is both easy and fun and can be done with one child or as a classroom activity.

Things You'll Need

  • Color printer
  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Toilet paper roll(s)

Instructions

    • 1

      Print the color T-Rex template from the DLTK's Crafts for Kids web site. Cut out all of the template pieces.

      Glue a large green rectangle piece of paper around the toilet paper tube. Glue the head to one end of the tube.

      Glue the arms approximately 1 inch down from the top of the tube. Glue the legs approximately 1 1/2-inches from the bottom of the toilet paper tube.

      Fold the scales in half so both sides are green and attach them along the backside of the toilet paper tube. Fold the tail in half so that both sides are green. Glue the tail to the backside of the tube just under the scales.
