How to Convert BU to PK

Just as fluid ounces and liquid gallons gauge liquid volume, bushels (bu) and pecks (pk) specifically gauge the volumes containing dry goods like fruits and grains. The relative capacities of a bushel and a peck follow the basic structure of other common American volume units like the cup and pint, which are differentiated by powers of two. With this structural standard, you can easily convert volume measured in bushels to its equivalent in pecks.

Multiply the bushel volume by four to convert to an equivalent volume in pecks. In this example, 6 bushels multiplied by 4 equals 24 pecks.

    • 3

Check your conversion with an online converter like the one built into Google (see Resources). In the search field, type the number of bushels to be converted followed by the phrase "bushels to pecks." Both the original and converted amounts will appear underneath the search field.
