How to Convert Bushels to Cubic Yards

The bushel is a traditional English unit of measurement used primarily for dry goods such as grains and fruits. Though King Edward I first set the bushel equal to 8 gallons, the British Parliament standardized the bushel in 1696. Bushels differ from heaped bushels, which are larger. Each bushel equals 0.04609 cubic yards. Knowing how to convert between the two units helps you make sure you order the appropriate volume.
