Awesome Ways to Decorate Your Locker for Girls

When you're getting ready for the first day of a new school year, don't forget the supplies and decorative items you need to make your locker your home away from home. Your school locker is one of the few pieces of school property that is temporarily yours and should be a reflection of your personality, goals and aspirations. Use your creativity to make your locker an amazing space that you'll love returning to between classes.
  1. Choose a Theme

    • A theme will help you decide the color scheme and everything else you are going to add to your locker. If you are really into leopard print, cover the inside of your locker door with leopard print and use leopard print picture frames to display pictures. For those that are really into Hollywood celebrities or dreams of being on the big screen one day, decorate your locker door with black fabric and place cutouts of gold and silver stars on the background. A postcard picture of the Hollywood sign and your favorite actress adds to the ambiance. If you're a sporty girl, a green fabric background represents grass, or use a fabric in your school colors if you are a cheerleader.

    Personalize Your Locker

    • Put up pictures of fun times hanging out with your closest friends and also a picture of your family if you want. Add pictures of you and your team if you won a game or tournament. You can also put up pictures from your summer vacation. Remember that you most likely cannot use tape or glue on your lockers, so use decorative magnets and magnetic frames to hold up all of your items.

    Make It Motivational

    • Use your locker as a source of inspiration for your goals and dreams. If your goal is to go to a certain college or university and you know the grades that you need to get it, write a positive note on a sticky such as, "Study Hard!" and "You can do this!" and place it somewhere prominent in your locker. If you want to be a doctor someday, post up a picture or two of famous female doctors you may look up to for inspiration. Include a funny quote in your locker, perhaps from your favorite movie that will cheer you up on rough days.

    Don't Forget the Extras

    • To truly make your locker stand out from the rest, you've got to go a step further with your decorations. Place battery-operated LED lights in your locker. Not only does it look cool, but you will be able to find the stuff you need that is hidden in the back of your locker. A mini cork board placed somewhere in your locker is perfect to hold quick notes to yourself or tickets to the homecoming dance. Locker organizers, such as mini shelves, will keep your locker neat and make it simple to find what you need so you won't be late to class. Don't forget to hang a mini mirror so you can make sure there's no food in your teeth after lunch.
