How do I Check Schools Boundaries Using a Home Address?

A home address is essential for checking an attending or designated school. Many school districts have magnet schools and other opportunities to consider as well, but eligibility for specific schools may still rely on your home address. If you are considering purchasing a home you may want to find the school your children will be attending. The schools may have a big factor in the home you choose to buy.

Instructions

    • 1

Search on the Internet for your school district's home page. If you are unsure of your school district you can check with your city government, realtor or a neighbor for the school district name.

    • 2

Find the section for new students to look up the school's address. Enter your address in the form.

    • 3

Look in a phone book if the website does not have this information, or if you do not have access to the Internet. The district office should be able to tell you the school information regarding school assignments for your address. Although any school you call should be able to help you as well.

    • 4

Visit the closest school to your home in person. The office workers can tell you your school assignment and possibly show you a map of the grounds.
