How to Convert AWG to Metric

The system known as American Wire Gauge, or AWG, is also known under the name of Brown & Sharpe and is used particularly on the North American continent for computing the diameter of nonferrous, round and solid wires. However, since this system is not very popular in Europe and on other continents, where the metric system is preferred instead, a conversion is often necessary in order to provide a clear idea of the values used.
