Setup the bulletin board background using construction paper and borders with colors and prints your students choose. Cover the cork bulletin board background with colorful construction paper using a stapler to attach each piece securely. Staple pre-cut borders in bright prints around the outside of the construction paper to make a border. Staple pre-cut letters to the bulletin board that spell out your students' classroom number, grade and the word Library (e.g., Third Grade Library Rm. 23).
Decorate the bulletin board using dust jackets and word strips with words and phrases from your students' favorite books. Carefully remove any book covers from chosen books and attach them to the bulletin board with two-sided tape. Cut the construction paper into strips and have your students use colored markers to write their favorite words and phrases from the books. Attach the word strips with vocabulary words and phrases onto the bulletin board with a stapler or with two-sided tape.
Provide crayons, markers, water colors and paper and let your student's create objects and scenes from the chosen books. Have your students use construction paper strips and markers and make captions for their pictures. Attach the pictures and captions to the bulletin board with a stapler or with two-sided tape.
Add appropriate stickers, sports cards and game cards to your bulletin board using a stapler or two-sided tape. You can also add suitable pre-cut bulletin board set pieces using a stapler or two-sided tape. Your students can then review daily the book titles, vocabulary words, captions and phrases on the completed library bulletin board.
