Attach pockets or envelopes to the bulletin board, and label the envelopes with the name of the job assigned for the day or week. Place a tall card with the student's name or a photo of the student inside each pocket. Ensure that the student name or picture peeks out over the edge of the pocket. Change out the classroom helper assignment every week to ensure each student gets a chance to help with every job.
Paint or purchase brightly colored clothespins, and write each student's name on a different clothespin with a permanent marker. Run a line of rope across the bulletin board like a clothesline, or hot glue the clothespins to a thin piece of wood, such as a yardstick. Laminate the cards with the classroom jobs, and clip the card into the clothespin to show what assignment each student has. Each week rotate assigned job by unclipping a card from the clothespin, and inserting a different card into the pin.
Redecorate the job helper bulletin board in a western theme, by adding cowboys and ranch elements to the board, renaming the jobs to relate directly to the theme. For example, rename the "line leader" job to "cattle rustler" and "lunch helper" to "cookie." Consider letting the helpers wear fun sheriff-style badges with each job name for the week or month.
Post an appreciation type of bulletin board letting your students know how much you appreciated their help throughout the school year. Title the board something such as "Helpers Are Stars" and include pictures of students performing their classroom duties. Include little notes about funny incidents or awards to students for being a particularly good "door holder" or "trash monitor."
