How to Make Your Own Math Sheets

Whether a student loves math or hates it, he must learn and understand the subject. Math worksheets are vital for this. By frequently using worksheets, students are able to work on problems and to reference the worksheets if they have a question. Create math worksheets that help students understand math lessons and encourage discussion when they do not understand a problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Review the math sections you are currently teaching your students, as well as previously taught sections. Review previous tests and worksheets. Write down math problems that are frequently answered incorrectly. Including problematic equations helps students work toward getting the equation correct.

    • 2

Look through your students' math book. Write down various equations from the book. This ensures that the problems on the worksheet are familiar to the students.

    • 3

Make a rough draft of the worksheet. Include old and new math problems. This ensures that students remember older work while learning new work. Incorporating old work into new work also acts as a reference for working through newer problems. When students work on the older problems, they use the process for the newer problems.

    • 4

Finalize the worksheet. Write or type out each problem. When writing out the problems, ensure that your handwriting is clear to avoid confusion. Ensure that all problems are in rows of five or six with plenty of room for students to write.

    • 5

Make copies of the math sheet. For handwritten sheets, make copies on a copying machine. Copy the desired number of sheets. Print out the desired number of sheets for typed math sheets. Make an extra copy of the math sheet.

    • 6

Make an answer sheet. With the extra math sheet, write down the correct answer to the problems. Look in the book referenced for the problems to ensure that all answers are correct. An answer sheet is also ideal for quickly grading papers.
