Create Your Own Math Test with a Word Processing Program

    • 11

Write all of your math problems on a blank piece of paper. This will assist you with formatting the test within a word program. Take into consideration how many problems you want to include on each line, and whether or not the problems will be story problems or written equations. Group similar math problems into different areas.

    • 12

Load a new, blank word document. Use a program such as Textpad, Wordpad or Microsoft Word to create you own test. Set the margins to 1 inch and the font to 12 point. Write the word "Name" on the first line followed by 15 underscores to create a name line. Hit the "Enter" key two times.

    • 13

Type the word problems at the beginning of the paper. Number each question and write letters for each answer. The answers need to be spaced evenly over one line, or separated into different lines by hitting the "Enter" key after each answer.

    • 14

Type the first line of the first written equation and hit the "Tab" key two times. Type the first line of the second written equation and hit the "Tab" key two times. Type the first line of the third written equation. The third equation will be positioned on the right side of the document. Hit the "Enter" key to go down to the next line.

    • 15

Type the second line of the first written equation and hit the "Tab" key two times. Type the second line of the second written equation and hit the "Tab" key two times. Type the second line of the third written equation. The third equation will be positioned on the right side of the document. Hit the "Enter" key to go down to the next line.

    • 16

Type five underscores under the first written equation and hit the "Tab" key two times. Type five underscores under the second written equation and hit the "Tab" key two times. Type five underscores under the third written equation. This will create a break between the question and the answer. Hit the "Enter" key twice to leave space between each question.
