How to Make Out a Class Schedule for Washington Virtual Academy

The Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA) uses the K12 platform for educating homeschooled students. Steilacoom Historical School District No.1, Monroe Public Schools and Omak School District all have schools that are part of WAVA. Between all of these options, any student in grades kindergarten through 12th grade who resides in the state of Washington can go through WAVA and K12 for their education. Through K12's Online School (OLS) interface, parents can manage many aspects of their child's education, including attendance and class schedules.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to the OLS. Click on the student's name from the dropdown menu on the black menu bar across the top of the page, if you are schooling more than one student. Find the "Planning and Progress" link on the black menu bar across the top of the page. It will be the second option after "OLS Home."

    • 2

Select the "Plan" tab. This will give you a daily or weekly view of your current default schedule. Click on the "Schedule Set-Up" link under the "Plan" tab. It will be located to the left of "Advance Preparation," to the right of "Change Date" and above the "Plan for [date]."

    • 3

Specify days off on your calendar first, by selecting the date with your cursor. It will then show up to the right under "Days Off." Click "Next." You will then be taken to the screen to specify a weekly schedule.

    • 4

Make a weekly schedule by putting the number of courses you want to do each day to the right of the course name and under the day of the week that you will do it. For example, if you want to do one unit of Math 2 every Monday through Friday, then find "Math 2" along the left side of the chart and put a "1" in the boxes under "M," "T," "W," "T" and "F." Once you have finished, select "Accept Schedule" at the bottom of the screen.
