Draw a circle in the center of a piece of paper. Write a word in it.
Draw eight circles around the middle circle with lines connecting them to the main circle. While you are doing this, think of words that create the same sound as the word in the middle.
Write each word you can think of with the same three-letter ending in each one of the boxes. Continue this process with another word and eventually you won`t need to write them out.
Point to a body part and say a word that rhymes with that body part. For example, point to your eye and say "pie."
Ask your child to say the real name of the body part. Eventually she will understand the sounds associated with rhyming.
Point to a body part and say the actual name. Ask him to say as many words that rhyme with the actual name of the body part.
