Employ and/or train any necessary staff. In order to properly recognize certain impacts, it may be necessary to employ specialists. For example, if you want to know about the impact on employee mood and satisfaction, it may be necessary to hire psychologists. Even if specialists are not required, existing employees, even managers, will likely have to receive training to recognize any impact.
Collect data. There are many types of data. Observations can be made either casually or formally. Surveys and questionnaires can be used. Productivity rates, grades, and any number of other markers can be considered data.
Analyze the data. Data should be compiled and computed. There are many different ways of analyzing data. Calculations can be made, or case studies completed. The precise forms of analysis will depend on what information is sought. For example, if you want to know about grades, you can compare individual student grades before and after the new technology was introduced, and also the aggregate grades.
Interpret the data analysis. Review the data analysis and attempt to decipher its meaning. If grades went up, how much is attributable to the new technology? Why did the new technology have this impact? This is where the impact can be recognized. Consider further studies based on any results.
