Louisiana Technical College, Lafayette offers associate degrees, technical diplomas and certificates. The technical college was founded in 1973 and was originally called Lafayette Regional Institute.

South Louisiana Community College has an open-admission policy. In addition to offering degree-seeking programs, SLCC prepares you for an immediate career or to transfer into a university. Also, if you're not quite ready to handle college coursework, SLCC helps you strengthen you basic skills with developmental programs so that you can obtain your degree.
SLCC offers seven degree programs. These programs include criminal justice, emergency medical technology, general business, industrial technology, general studies, liberal arts and care and development of young children. SLCC also offers one certificate in technical studies for emergency medical technology. Both the emergency medical technology degree and certificate are for individuals interested in becoming paramedics.
The community college offers all important paperwork, such as the admission application, graduate degree plan and transcript evaluation request form, on the website. However, you can't fill them out online. All paperwork must be printed, filled out and returned to SLCC.

The Remington College--Lafayette Career and Technical School provides students with skills needed to be successful in the working world. It offers associate degrees in majors such as criminal justice and computer and network administration. In addition, diplomas are offered in majors like cosmetology, medical assisting, pharmacy technician and electronic technology. Some of the diplomas and associate degrees require you to take part in on-the-job training.
You can attend courses during the day or evening with classes of 25 students or less. Once you're close to graduating, you can receive help preparing for job interviews and creating your cover letter and resume. In addition, the career services team, according to the school's website, will help you find a part-time job while you're enrolled at Remington.
