South Texas College has five campuses, including the main campus in McAllen. The college, which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, offers associate's and bachelor's degrees in various fields, from Applied Technology to Teacher Education. The college also has an extensive selection of vocational programs in popular fields such as diesel technology, industrial systems maintenance technology, combination welding, commercial cooking, architectural drafting, medical assistant technology, marketing, vocational nursing, pharmacy technology, and medical coding. Formerly the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants, Kaplan College has expanded its offerings to include diplomas not only for budding medical and dental assistants but also electrical technicians and computer support technicians. Students can also choose to pursue an associate's degree in criminal justice or medical practice management. To better prepare them for their post-college careers, the college also offers a Career Services office to assist with additional professional development training and career planning.
