Equestrian Massage Schools

Massage has applications for general wellness as well as sport or accidental injury for both people and horses. Veterinarians and massage therapists can learn how to do equestrian massage to help customers improve their horse's gait and heal from injuries. When looking for an equine massage school, try to find one accredited by the International Equine Body Workers Association (IEBWA), the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) or a national accrediting agency such as the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). The NCBTMB certifies massage therapists and continuing education providers for both people and animals. ACCET is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and requires two years of continued operation by its members for accreditation. The IEBWA sets standards specifically for equestrian massage schools.
