The Sanford-Brown campus in Iselin, New Jersey offers a certificate program in massage therapy. The curriculum includes both instruction and practical clinical hours. Students learn physiology, ethics, anatomy, massage theory and practical massage techniques. Graduates are eligible to take the NCBTMB (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) national licensure exam for massage therapists. However, the school is not an official licensure-qualifying program in New York State.

Pacific College of Oriental Medicine has associate and bachelor's programs in body therapy at its campus in Manhattan. Students in the associate of occupational studies in massage therapies program study anatomy and physiology, patholgy, kinesiology and both western-style and eastern massage. Graduates can sit for the NCBTMB exam. The bachelor's program adds classes in Chinese medicine, ethics and counseling, and massage therapy. Students who graduate with a bachelor's can also take the national exams. Pacific College of Oriental Medicine is an approved school by New York State; graduates from Pacific College can also take the New York State exams for massage therapists.

The Academy of Natural Health Sciences offers a 650-hour massage therapy course that is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education. Students who graduate from the massage therapy program are eligible to take New Jersey state certification exams. The program teaches medical massage, ethics and business practices, anatomy, reflexology, shiatsu, Swedish massage and hydrotherapy. The course can be taken in either a six-month day program or as part of an eight-month night program. Both programs include clinical hours.
