Washington State Vocational Training & Certification

The state of Washington has a variety of occupational and vocational training programs to assist people in acquiring the necessary skills and experience to advance their careers or launch new careers. These programs include training through traditional educational institutions as well as on-the-job training programs.
  1. Career Bridge

    • The Career Bridge program helps people who are unemployed find the training they need so that they can re-enter the work force. This includes traditional education as well as apprenticeship programs. Special programs are in place for people with disabilities and veterans.

    Worksource

    • The Employment Security Department's Worksource program teaches basic work-force skills such as effective job hunting, English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Education Diploma (GED). It can also help workers find occupational or on-the-job training and apprenticeships.

    CTP

    • The Washington Customized Training Program (CTP) was created to help employers train their workers. Through this program, the state will help pay for and reduce the cost of customized training, including technical skills and equipment training.
