Vacations for College Kids

As you cram for midterms and finals you may feel as if you will never get a vacation. Vacations are an important part of your life. You need rest from work and studying. This is why full-time jobs offer paid vacation time. Vacations are essential for your mental and physical health. How you spend vacations as a college student is also important. There are several ways you can spend it, but make sure that whatever you do, you are having fun and staying safe.
  1. Home Swap

    • Show your college pal your hometown and then vist hers.

Choose a college friend to go on vacation with over spring break or summer vacation. Split the days in half and spend one half with their family and the other half with yours. Going home may not seem like much of a vacation to you, but it might be fun to learn how your college friend lived before you met her. It might be equally fun to share your life prior to college with her. Spend time relaxing, getting together with old friends and showing each other what there is to do in your hometowns, whether or not you think your town is dull. Who knows, it might seem exciting to your friend.

    Vegas

    • Head to Vegas.

Work full time over the summer to save money for a spring break trip to Las Vegas. Now that you're an adult, you can appreciate all that Las Vegas offers. Spend time with friends at casinos, go to arcades, amusement parks, shows and more. Make sure that you are always with a friend and are safe.

    Beach House

    • Split the cost with several people and spend a week or two at a beach.

Get a big group together and split the cost of a hotel or resort house near the beach. California, Florida, Oregon, Virginia and other states are all possibile locations. Spend time swimming and surfing. Take a whale watching boat tour and spy out the nature life. Chill out at night and watch movies and play games.

    Camp Trips

    • Camp out with a group of friends.

Camping is an inexpensive vacation idea that can be loads of fun. Get a group of friends together, pack your sleeping bags and tents and head out to the wilderness. Bring your own groceries to save money. You won't have to spend lots of money on activities either. You can hike on nature trails, swim in lakes or rivers, go tubing, canoeing, kayaking, biking, tell ghost stories by the campfire, read in a lawn chair and roast marshmallows while singing familiar songs.
