Kansas City Kansas Community College was founded in 1923 in the city of Kansas City, which straddles the Missouri-Kansas border. Kansas City, Kan., is the third largest city in Kansas, with a population of about 146,867, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The college includes a library, student center, credit union, performing arts center, academic buildings and athletic facilities, including a fieldhouse, track, baseball field and tennis courts. The junior college offers courses in a wide range of subjects, including business, nursing, engineering, biology, mathematics, literature, languages and social sciences. Hutchinson Community College is located in Hutchinson, about 40 miles from Wichita.
