    • Kansas City Kansas Community College was founded in 1923 in the city of Kansas City, which straddles the Missouri-Kansas border. Kansas City, Kan., is the third largest city in Kansas, with a population of about 146,867, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The college includes a library, student center, credit union, performing arts center, academic buildings and athletic facilities, including a fieldhouse, track, baseball field and tennis courts.     • Hutchinson Community College is located in Hutchinson, about 40 miles from Wichita. Hutchinson offers junior college students a variety of academic and athletic opportunities, and the city hosts the National Junior College Athletic Association Basketball Tournament every year in March. The college offers associate degrees, certificate programs and distance learning courses.     • Colby Community College is located in the town of Colby, on the High Plains of northwest Kansas, near the borders of Colorado and Nebraska. Colby Community College features a library, a farm, horse stable, radio station, a cafeteria, on-campus housing and athletic facilities.
