Nebraska Nail Technology Schools

Nebraska offers several schools specializing in nail technology. Schools provide 300 to 350 hours of education and hands-on instruction. Courses in nail technology focus on technical, nail health, and business aspects of the nail technician. Several schools are structured to offer financial aid to qualifying students. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics nail technician employment will increase by 19 percent from 2008 to 2018.
  1. Sunny Nail Academy

    • Sunny Nail Academy is located in Kearney, Nebraska. Sunny offers a 300-hour nail technology course that prepares students for state exams. The course is taught by a licensed instructor with five years teaching experience and 16 years hands-on technical nail experience. Students learn in small classes and through hands-on instruction.

    La' James International College

    • La' James International College is located in Fremont, Nebraska. La' James offers a 350-hour nail technology course. Courses include instruction in artificial nails, hand massage, polishing, manicures, pedicures, product knowledge and client development. New classes in 2011 start in February, April, June, August, October and December. Application procedures include interview, application fees, and registration fees. Requirements for applying include high school diploma or GED and photo identification. Student financial aid is available to qualifying students.

    Xenon International Academy

    • Xenon International Academy is located in Grand Isle and Omaha Nebraska. Xenon offers courses that focus on nail enhancement as well as business and marketing for salons. Instruction in nail enhancement includes use of manual files and electric drills. The program provides instruction in the application of acrylic, gel, and silk/linen wraps. The application process includes assessment testing and personal interview. Requirements include high school diploma or GED, birth certificate, photo identification and application fee. Student financial aid is available to qualifying students.

    Academy of Nail Design

    • The Academy of Nail Design is located in Omaha, Nebraska. The Academy offers a 300-hour nail technology course. Full-time students graduate in as little as eight weeks. Part-time students who attend 20 to 24 hours a week graduate in 13 to 15 weeks. The course includes training in manicure, pedicure, acrylic application, gel application and nail maintenance. The course also includes life studies, professional image, and introduction to the nail industry. Nail health instruction includes sanitation practices, infection control, nail diseases, nail structure, and the basics of product chemistry. Application requirements include student being at the minimum age of 17 and able to provide a high school diploma or GED. As of 2011 a $250 deposit is required upon enrollment. Payment plans are available. Student financial aid is not available.
