Dunwoody School of Technology, located in Minneapolis, was founded in 1914 and is the oldest institution of its kind in the Upper Midwest. Dunwoody is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. The college offers an Electrical Construction Design and Management program, which is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment. The length of the program at Dunwoody is six quarters and students who graduate earn an Associate of Applied Science degree.
St.Cloud Technical & Community College, located in St.Cloud, offers an Electrical Construction Technology program. Students in the program may earn a diploma or an Associate of Applied Science degree. The Electrical Construction Technology program at St.Cloud Technical & Community College is approved by the Minnesota State Board of Electricity, and after completion of an apprenticeship, graduates are eligible to take the state examination.
Dakota County Technical College, located in Rosemount, offers an Electrical Construction and Maintenance Technology program. The program provides two outcomes, an Associate of Applied Science degree or a diploma. Students who take the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Technology program at Dakota County Technical College will learn technical electronics/electrical theory, as well as hands-on experience. Classes are held in the daytime and the program begins in both fall and spring semesters.
Saint Paul College, located in Saint Paul, has been in the education business since 1910 and is the oldest two-year college in the metropolitan area. The college has ranked among the top five of Minnesota's community and technical colleges, as well as being recognized as one of the top 50 fastest growing two-year public colleges. Saint Paul College offers a Construction Electricity program, which results in a diploma upon completion. Students taking the program will learn such things as installation, electrical theory and use of electrical testing equipment.
