Olympic College has three main campuses in the state of Washington, including locations at Bremerton, Poulsbo and Shelton. The college has additional learning facilities throughout the state in places such as Naval Base Kitsap and the Shelton Trades Center. The Olympic College has three programs for the student interested in the culinary arts--the sous chef program, the lead chef program and the prep cook program. Each program prepares a student for a career in the position of the same name.

The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges administers Renton Technical College. The college has two programs in the culinary arts. The first is the professional baking program, which trains students in both contemporary and classic baking. Students in this program support an operational retail bakery and gain valuable, real-life job experience. Completion of the professional baking program results in the conferral of a certificate. The second program is the culinary arts program, which is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation. Students in the culinary arts program learn a broad range of cooking techniques and can pursue a certificate or an associate of applied science degree.

Spokane Community College hosts the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy. Students at the Inland Northwest Culinary Academy can earn their associate in applied science degree in two years. The Inland Northwest Culinary Academy is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, making it equivalent to many other top culinary programs in the United States. The program will also assist students in finding employment in their field upon graduation.

Clark College in Vancouver has two culinary arts programs--cooking and restaurant management and professional baking. The National Restaurant Association named the cooking and restaurant management program the best in the state of Washington. The professional baking program provides students with a balanced education in five different areas of baking, as well as providing a baking management program. Students in either program may earn a professional certificate or an associate in applied science degree.
