Medical Billing & Coding Specialist Schools

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the demand for medical records technicians, such as medical billing and coding specialists, will increase by 20 percent from 2008 through 2018. To enter the field, post-secondary education is typically required for success in the field. A small number of public and private schools in the United States offer medical billing and coding specialist programs that carry the approval of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
