As a campus of Lincoln Group of Schools, Nashville Auto-Diesel College offers prospective students the opportunity to learn at a school that has a 90-year history in automotive training. The college works with students from all 50 states to train the best auto mechanics possible. Students can choose from a degree path in general automotive technician, collision repair, diesel or high performance.

Students attending Chattanooga State Tech Community College benefit from the school's new Automotive Mechatronics program, which partners with the newly built Volkswagen plant to provide skilled, hands on training in the field of automotive technology. In addition, the college offers technical diplomas in the fields of general automotive technology, collision repair, diesel equipment mechanics and motorcycle and marine service technology. Students may complete all or one of the diploma programs, giving them the opportunity to specialize in a field best suited to their skills.

The Automotive Technology program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Memphis awards students a diploma in automotive technology and teaches the skills necessary to obtain the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications needed for employment. Courses are taught in a number of fields, including safety and orientation; engine performance and repair; automotive transmissions; manual drive train and axles; suspension and steering; brakes; electrical and electronic systems; heating and air conditioning; and the necessary skills to obtain and keep employment.
The Automotive Technology program at the Tennessee Technology Center at Memphis had tuition costs of $800, as of June 2010. The school can arrange monthly payment options for students to assist in paying for their training.
