The National Aviation Academy located in Clearwater, Florida and Bedford, Massachusettes offers several programs for those interested in a career in aircraft maintenance. The Avionics Technology (AVT) curriculum focuses on preparing you to receive your NCATT certification and takes around seven months to complete. This program is only for those that already have their A&P licenses. For those that wish to earn dual FAA certifications, the Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program teaches both airframe and power plant and takes around 14 months to complete. The National Aviation Academy also offers Aviation Maintenance Certification for those that are eligible.

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance, located in Atlanta, Georgia, Dallas, Texas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Kansas City, Missouri, offers FAA-approved programs for aviation servicing, maintenance, and avionics. The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) and Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer (AMTE) curriculum prepare students to earn their airframe and power plant FAA license as well as FCC license. The Airframe Maintenance Technician program covers working with airframes and similar structures and includes practice with assembly, repair, rigging, and inspections. The Powerplant Maintenance Technician program teaches students how to work on engines, turbines, and other power generating devices.

Located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology offers hands-on training on everything from changing a tire to rebuilding a turbine engine. Their Aviation Maintenance Technology program offers both a diploma (which takes 18 months) or an Associate's Degree in Applied Science (if you take the full 23-month program). They also offer both diplomas and Associate's Degrees for Avionics Technology, which can take from 15 to 18 months. The Spartan College is home to a testing center for students and non students who wish to sit exams for their FAA and FCC licenses.
