Professional Aviation Schools

Aviation schools are found at universities, community colleges and private accredited flight schools. The training and school choice depends on the type of airplane the student wants to learn to fly. Schools including Louisiana Tech and Central Oregon Community College have aviation training in most aircraft disciplines, as do many private businesses.
  1. Louisiana Tech University

    • Louisiana Tech University has an aviation traing school that provides the students a bachelor's degree in professional aviation and aviation management. The school maintain 12 Cessna aircraft to train students and prepare them for certification and licensing. Flight training includes classroom courses, simulator training and hands-on flight training. The aviation school also certifies aviation instructors, commercial pilots and private pilots.

    Professional Air

    • Professional Air is a private aviation training school located in Bend, Oregon. The school trains commercial and private pilots on Piper Seminole or Cessna aircraft. The flight school has partnered with Central Oregon Community College to offer an associate's degree in aviation science. The school has classroom courses, simulator training and hands-on flight training to certify students as pilots or flight instructors.

    Ardmore Flying School

    • The Ardmore Flying School is based in New Zealand and accredited to meet pilot certification in Europe and the U.S. The professional aviation school trains students as commercial pilots, private pilots or any level of pilot training. Courses include private pilot license theory, commercial pilot license theory and instrument rating courses so students can be licensed or certified in their desired field. The commercial pilots training program includes night flying, cross-country flying and flying by instruments.

    Professional Aviation Resources

    • Professional Aviation Resources concentrates its flight training on advanced pilots, but does train private pilots on smaller aircraft. The courses take students from the basics of a small aircraft to the more complex commercial aircraft, utilizing simulators and classroom work before moving up to the larger aircraft. Private, commercial and instrument pilot certification are taught at this professional aviation school, along with flight instructor certification training.
