Electrical Estimating Training

Many electrical estimators use specialized software to calculate working costs and bids for clients. A variety of consulting firms and training companies offer individuals accustomed to manual estimating the ability to upgrade their skills and become familiar with computerized estimating software.
  1. Courses and Workshops

    • Many electrical estimating training courses are short programs or workshops that can be conducted within a training facility or in the workplace. Workplace training is generally available for groups as large as 30 people at one time and each student receives individualized instruction to ensure their familiarity with the estimating programs.

    Training Methodology

    • Throughout the workshop or course, estimating material is taught through presentations and students are provided with workbooks to keep notes. Every student also receives one-on-one training from professional estimators and trainers.

    Curriculum

    • Students learn the fundamentals of electrical estimating and transitioning from manual to computerized estimating. Each participant also receives instruction for software designed to analyze labor and overhead costs, generate work orders and invoices and bid totals and search for pricing and product information.
