International Youth Travel Grants

Young students and new graduates have many exciting options to start traveling the world. Grants and scholarships encourage eager students to travel as ambassadors of their home country. Some grants provide all expenses for a specific length of time while others give young people (generally under 25 or 26) the chance to explore a few destinations with a small but helpful bit of money in their pockets.
  1. Travel Grant in France: Youth International Meetings

    • Every year the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, through its Embassy and Consulates in the U.S., chooses a few young American students to take part in an unforgettable French immersion experience through a fully funded grant. Winners of the Youth International Meetings Program travel to France, immerse themselves in the French language and culture one summer. The travel grant inspires students to pursue French studies. Selected applicants receive funding for summer travel to France for 9 to 15 days where students focus on a variety of subjects including art, regional culture, photography, sports, science, dance, music and art. The travel grant---offered to applicants 18 to 25 years old---covers airfare to and from France and program expenses for participants including housing, meals, transportation, activities and insurance while abroad.Program participants must have an interest in French culture and a proficiency in French language. Each participating French Consulate in the United States organizes its own candidate selection.
