American Universities With Dual Degree Programs With European Universities

Also referred to as being combined, conjoint or simultaneous, a multitude of American universities offer dual-degree programs. Dual degrees are generally either of the Bachelor's or Master's variety. Though it is not hard to find an American university with dual degree programs, not as many offer dual degrees in conjunction with European universities. Though other universities offer dual degrees with other countries, programs do exist that allow you to obtain a dual degree in conjunction with an American and European university.
  1. American University: International J.D. Dual Degree Programs

    • American University offers students an international J.D. dual degree programs at its Washington College of Law (WCL). Located in Washington, D.C., WCL established this program in 2004 in conjunction with other universities in Canada, Australia and France. J.D./Master I/Master II program takes place at both WCL and the Université Paris Ouest Nanterre la Défense, otherwise known as Nanterre.

    Columbia School of General Studies: Dual BA Program

    • Columbia University jointly participates in the Alliance Program which is a Franco-American consortium that includes the the École Polytechnique and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Science Po. Students who are accepted to this program spend two years at Columbia and two years at Science Po in France. Science Po campuses consist of Le Havre, Menton and Reims. Each French campus caters to specific focuses such as Reims' concentration in English and North America.

    Florida International University: Graduate Dual Degree

    • Florida International University (FIU) has partnered with eight different European universities through the FIU Chapman Graduate School of Business. This dual degree program allows students to earn complementary business degrees in two countries. The European partners include universities in Spain, Portugal, U.K., Italy, Germany, Croatia and France.

    Georgia Tech's College of Computing: International Study -- Dual Degree Programs

    • Georgia Tech's College of Computing is a participant of the Atlantis program, a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of Education and the European Commission. The mission of this program is to provide funding for master's students in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science. Participating European universities include the University of Trento in Italy, the Technical University of Munich in Germany and the Universidad Politecnica de Catalonia, or UPC, in Barcelona, Spain.

    Harvard Law School and the University of Cambridge J.D./LL.M. Joint Degree Program

    • Harvard Law School has a dual degree program by which students receive a Harvard J.D. and a Cambridge LL.M. earned from time at the US and UK campuses. In this three-year program, as a student you spend your third year at Cambridge. This program is unique in that it allows students to become immersed in a foreign legal culture. A total of six Harvard second-year law students are annually selected.

    KU School of Business: Dual Degree MBA Programs

    • The University of Kansas, has several dual degree program options. Though the campus is located in Lawrence, Kansas, the KU MBA dual degree program also has study abroad at the Clermont-Ferrand in France. The MBA-Master in Management program at KU is brought to students in conjunction with The Groupe ESC Clermont Graduate School of Management. Students also participate in a six-month internship at a European company while abroad.
