Grants for German Graduate Students to Study in the United States

Among the richest components of the American university system are its foreign students. German students in particular have access to a number of grant and stipend resources that may help them study at the graduate level in the United States.
  1. Max Planck Research Award

    • This award is available to both post-graduate and graduate students. Eligibility requires a long-term commitment to an approved research agenda or project. Preferences for the field of research are heavily bent on the sciences. Upwards of 30 awards may be granted per calender year.

    Fulbright Stipend

    • One of the most central and expansive Fulbright programs is the exchange of American and German students. Fulbright grants and scholarships encourage German bachelor and graduate level candidates to engage in study in the US. Full-time tuition stipends of over $30,000, travel fares, and health insurance are all part of the grant package.
