Juilliard has long been one of the most famous performing arts colleges in the United States. With its New York City location, Juilliard affords students the opportunity to audition for professional productions while completing their college education. This prestigious college accepts only 8 percent of those who audition, so high school students who seek to attend would do well to have previous professional experience. Applications for the following academic year are due each December 1.

Although its name only includes music, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, or CCM, offers BFA and MFA programs in acting and a BFA program in dance. The dance program is primarily ballet-focused, so those with a passion for tutus and toe shoes should consider this gem in the Midwest. The University of Cincinnati offers rolling admissions; send in paperwork at any time and contact CCM for audition dates.
