How to Sign Up for the ACT Test Online

Most colleges require results from the ACT or SAT as part of the application process. Within the continental United States, you can take the ACT in June, April, February, December, October or September. September testing does not occur in Alaska, Hawaii, the U.S. territories or Canada. ACT Inc. offers two methods for test registration: by mail or on the Internet. If you choose to sign up for the ACT online, you can check your score, change your testing center and print your own admission ticket.

  Find the registration link and begin signing up for the test.

  Enter your account information.You may need to create a new account if this is your first attempt at the ACT.

  Provide the appropriate personal and educational information.

  Search for testing sites in your area that offer the ACT on a date that you are available. You will also be asked to provide information for colleges that you would like to receive your scores. Decide in advance the colleges you would potentially like to attend.

  Review the information you provided and pay the registration fee. The website will prompt you as to your next steps and how you will be contacted for test reminders.
