Case Western Reserve University has a Bachelor of Science degree program in chemistry; this program is designed for students who seek entry into the field of chemistry as a professional chemist. Graduates of this program may either continue to pursue a graduate degree, or they may enter their profession with a bachelor's degree. Student will take science courses that include principles of chemistry; organic chemistry; quantitative analytical chemistry; laboratory methods in inorganic chemistry; and laboratory methods in physical chemistry. Purdue University has a Bachelor of Science degree program in turf grass science. This program prepares students to begin their career as a turf manager. This program lasts for four years and provides students with an education that covers the concepts, problem solving and principles to handle a wide range of situations. Students in this program will take courses that include turf management; organic chemistry; soil science; and agronomy. Students will also take turf grass courses that include turf grass irrigation and drainage; introduction to plant pathology; disease of turf grass; soil ecology; and physical properties of soil.
