Before test day, familiarize yourself with the format and constraints of the exam. You will have 3 1/2 hours to finish the entirety of the TEAS, which consists of 170 questions covering math, reading, English, and science. There are 45 math questions, 30 science questions, 55 English questions, and 40 reading questions. You will not be allowed to use a calculator during the exam, but you will be provided with scratch paper by test administrators.
Familiarize yourself with the content of the exam in addition to its format. The best way to do this is to take as many practice tests as possible. These practice tests not only will show you what is on the test but also will help you gauge your abilities. Use the results of your practice tests to identify your weak areas and study accordingly. Taking practice tests also will help you adjust to the timed nature of the test, ensuring that you complete it on the big day.
Take advantage of resources available to assist you in studying. Study aids can be found in a variety of formats and locations. Check your local and university book stores. Numerous websites offer online practice tests, sample questions, and comprehensive study guides. Search online for these study guides and other TEAS study materials.
Choose a good time and location to take your test. Assessment Technologies Institute offers the TEAS at numerous locations. If possible, take the test at your college or university where you are comfortable. This will increase your confidence and help put you at ease on test day. If you are not a morning person, you should look for an appointment later in the day.
