The Associate of Science program offered by Missouri Southern State University is an intensive 24-month program that works in conjunction with the radiology programs at local medical facilities. Students participate in classroom education and must complete an intensive clinical practice program before graduation. Course options include medical terminology, principles of radiographic exposure, positioning, physicals, image critique, quality management, and patient care. In addition to the required coursework, students may also specialize in fields such as emergency room, vascular, cardiac catheterization labs, mammography and computerized tomography.
Tuition costs for Fall 2010 are $143 per credit hour. Financial aid options are available.

Sanford Brown College offers students two options when earning a degree in radiology: an Associate of Applied Science in Radiography or a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences. Students in both programs learn skills in radiographic procedures, radiobiology, imaging, body structure, medical terminology, and radiation protection. In addition, each program requires clinical practice before graduation, and students earning the bachelor's degree must complete general education coursework.

The Radiology Department at the University of Missouri School of Medicine works with the University of Missouri hospital to provide students with a high quality, hands-on education. The school offers a post-graduate program in radiology for qualified physicians. Specialty programs are available in the fields of nuclear medicine, radiopathology and radiation physics. In addition, the school provides a radiology residency program focusing on neuroradiology, pediatrics imaging and interventional radiology. Residents also work at the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center and the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital.
The school currently offers four paid residency programs per year, and in addition to their salary, residents are allowed a $1,000 educational stipend per year.
