Consisting of four academic semesters and two summer terms, this program is comprised of didactic and clinical coursework in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, radiographic physics and imaging, radiobiology, radiation protection, digital imaging, pathology, patient care and procedures. Students must receive a minimum grade of “C-“ in all coursework and attain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in order to graduate.

The Department of Radiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics offers a competitive 24-month training program in radiologic technology that includes 40 weekly hours in a clinical hospital setting. Students receive theoretical instruction in radiation protection, patient care, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, image analysis, pathology, radiology physics and equipment, radiographic procedures and radiation biology as well as practical training within a laboratory and clinical environment.

The Department of Radiology Education at St. Luke’s College offers comprehensive training in radiologic technology. This program consists of four academic semesters and one summer session. Course topics include patient care, radiographic fundamentals and imaging, radiographic procedures, clinical applications, radiobiology, pathology and pharmacology.
