Certificate Programs for Substance Abuse

Mental health professionals can broaden their service base by completing a substance abuse certificate program. These programs teach participants how to identify, assess and treat individuals with chemical dependencies, as well as their families. While some programs are geared toward social workers and therapists, others can be completed by clergy or nurses who would like training in the area of substance abuse counseling. Certificates are available online as well as in a traditional on-campus format.
