    • Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music has an audio engineering program that provides students with an in-depth training curriculum that incorporates hands-on learning and classroom instruction. Students are able to complete classes during the day or in the evening and have access to a 24-hour lab. Courses in this program include analog signal processing, digital signal processing, music production and mixing and mastering.

    Cogswell Polytechnic Institute

    • Cogswell Polytechnic Institute offers a digital audio technology program that teaches students the skills needed to enter a career in the audio industry. The audio engineering program is focused on the integration of computer engineering and audio technology. Throughout this program, students learn about digital signal processing, computer engineering, physics and mathematics. The other two specialization tracks are audio production and sound work.

Students in this school are prepared to work in any recording environment and learn to listen for balance, mix placement, depth and blend.     Gibbs College

    • Gibbs College offers an audio engineering program that leads to a certificate of completion. This program teaches students about sound and music theory, MIDI recording and digital audio workstations. The program can be completed in as little as 11 months of study and includes subjects that teach desktop fundamentals and the business behind record labels and music recording.

    University of Miami

    • The University of Miami has a music engineering program with three degree options. Students can choose to purse a Bachelor of Music degree, Bachelor of Science degree or a Master of Science degree. Students in this program learn computer science, electrical engineering and necessary technical skills. Coursework in this program covers acoustics, studio and live music recording, digital audio, studio design, post-production and mixing.
