How to Upload a PowerPoint to a Whiteboard or a Blackboard

The use of PowerPoint software has changed higher education dramatically, allowing instructors to present a wide variety of information to students in a clear and illustrative manner. Bulleted lecture notes presented on a whiteboard allow students to focus on the key points of a lecture, and the instructor can easily add charts, graphs, images, video and sound to the presentation. Uploading these PowerPoint documents to an Internet-based course management software program such as Blackboard gives the instructor the ability to effectively disseminate the notes to students with additional links and functionality as well.

Give the file a name, for example "PowerPoint on Lecture Seven." Type a brief summary of the content of the document in the "text" box (optional), and then click on "Choose File." Navigate to the file you wish to upload in the pop-up window and click "Open." At this point you can also select other options such as whether or not the file is available to students, time restrictions on its availability, and set the tracking feature to count the number of times the file is viewed. When you're done, click "Submit" to complete the process.
