How to Force Submit All Unsubmitted Assessments on Blackboard

Allowing students to take assessments online with Blackboard can be a convenient way for teachers to administer exams. However, sometimes glitches prevent the tests from being submitted. Teachers using Blackboard's Campus Edition 8 can force the submission of assessments that the system shows are still in progress, allowing the assessments to be turned in and graded.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Blackboard account.

    • 2

Click the link for the course that contains the unsubmitted assessments.

    • 3

      Click on the "Teach" tab.

    • 4

      Click on the "Assessment Manager."

    • 5

Select the assessment that you want to grade. Click on the "View By" box in the top-right corner, choose the assignment in the drop-down menu and click the green arrow.

    • 6

Click on the "All" tab to see both the submitted and the unsubmitted attempts.

    • 7

Click on the first attempt that is labeled "In Progress." This means that the student has taken the exam, but it will look like a link in the "Attempt" column.

    • 8

Click on "Force Submission" in order to turn in the assessment for the student and have it graded.

    • 9

Repeat for each submission labeled "In Progress."
