How to Make a VCE From a PDF

Visual CertExam (VCE) files aid students in exam preparation. The files are created by the Visual CertExam Suite software designed to allow students to take practice exams in an environment similar to that of the real exam. PDF and other text files are commonly converted to VCE format in conjunction with a free software package called "Exam Formatter," which makes it easy to create, edit and take practice tests from any file format.

Instructions

    • 1

Download, install and run "Exam Formatter."

    • 2

Click on "File" in the toolbar running along the top of the "Exam Formatter" window, then select "Import." Click on the PDF file you want to convert and click "Open."

    • 3

Take note your "Question Number Format." It might, for example, read "Question Number: 1," or "Q1."

    • 4

Click on "File," then select "Settings."

    • 5

Type the format in the "Question Number Format" field in the "Import" tab. Type as it appears in your PDF document, followed by "&x" to represent the value of the question. For example, "Question Number: &x" or "Q&x." Click "Add." Select the check-box option that says "Use selected question number format" and click on "OK." Your file has now been separated into Questions.
