Ithaca College offers a bachelor of science degree in cinema and photography or a BFA in film, photography and visual arts. In the former program, students spend the first year equally split between studies of film and still image composition and editing. In the second year, students may choose a track from still photography, screenwriting or cinema production. The photography route includes courses in digital and analog production, art history, and art fundamentals.
The film, photography and visual arts degree track combines still photography techniques with a curriculum of cinematic production studies. The multidisciplinary program means that students will study alongside those studying art, photography and cinema. They take courses in drawing, video and still image editing, and video production. Graduates will have well-rounded knowledge in the composition and editing of images in a variety of mediums.
