List of Seminary Schools

Theological seminaries are institutions of higher learning that teach students about God and the Christian religion and offer programs for aspiring rabbis, ministers, preachers and other religious professionals. These institutions are primarily Christian, but the term has begun to include Jewish institutions as well. Seminary schools can be found across the U.S., as well as across the world. The five seminaries with highest enrollment as of 2010 can all be found in the United States.
  1. Fuller Theological Seminary

    • Founded in 1947 and as one of the largest multidenominational seminaries in the world and in North America, Fuller Theological Seminary admits almost 4,000 students each year to its community of several religious denominations from not always related religious groups. Fuller offers 18 professional and graduate-level programs through its School of Theology, Intercultural Studies and Psychology. Fuller offers classes at its Pasadena, California campus plus at six regional campuses. There are also flexible online programs.

    The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary

    • Located in Louisville, Kentucky, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) schools offer undergraduate, graduate and professional-level programs to its students. Founded in 1859, SBTS enrolls almost 3,500 students each year into its programs primarily focusing on traditional or evangelical religious training combined with practical ministerial experience.

    Dallas Theological Seminary

    • The Dallas Theological Seminary was founded in 1924 as an evangelical theological seminary with a Bible-centered curriculum. The main campus is located in Dallas, Texas, but Dallas Theological Seminary also has eight extension campuses across the U.S and an online multilingual education program. Campus and online enrollment into the graduate and professional-level programs averages 2,400 students annually.

    Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

    • With its main campus in Fort Worth, Texas, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary has extension campuses in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma, as well as an online program for transient students. Offering undergraduate, graduate and professional-level programs, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is one of the largest seminaries in the world graduating on average 3,500 students each year.
