Belhaven University provides teaching from a Christian perspective and is geared toward working professionals, as classes only meet once a week. It offers a selection of teaching programs aimed at Christian students: Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies, Associate of Arts in Christian Ministries, Certificate in Biblical Ministry and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Ministries. The University has a campus located in Orlando, just under an hour from Lakeland. The University claims that 90 percent of all students receive some kind of financial aid.
Florida Christian College runs a series of four-year degree programs that all emphasize the importance of scripture. The college is located in Kissimmee, 45 minutes from Lakeland. The college runs a series of cooperative programs, which teach Bible study in conjunction with courses that will lead to vocations outside of the ministry. The idea behind such courses is to prepare the next generation of professionals for a career that will help to spread the word of God.
Southeastern University offers students a wide range of general degree programs in arts and sciences and business. It also has a dedicated College of Christian Ministries and Religion, which runs four major programs (Church Ministries, Practical Theology, Interdisciplinary Studies and Missional Ministries), as well as eight concentrations for students looking to specialize their studies. Students are also offered the chance to spend a semester studying in Jerusalem. The University is located in Lakeland.
Warner University is situated in Lake Wales, less than half an hour from Lakeland. It offers both an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministry, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Study. The University provides students with an intimate learning experience with a 14 to 1 student to teacher ratio. The University claims to be able to offer 98 percent of students financial aid, and it is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
