How to Apply for Taking the NCLEX

All nursing graduates looking to obtain licensure to practice nursing must take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination. Passing the NCLEX provides nurses with the required licenses needed to practice nursing in the state where the nurse plans to work. Once you schedule the NCLEX, you can cancel your appointment or reschedule it at any time for a small fee. You may also retake the exam if you do not pass the first time.

Instructions

Register for the NCLEX on the Pearson Vue website (vue.com/nclex). Locate the "Schedule a Test" link on the Pearson Vue NCLEX page. Before you register, you must contact the board of nursing in the state where you want to obtain your license to acquire and submit an application.
