How to Sign Up Online for the NCLEX LPN Exam

The National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) is a computer-based test required for nursing practice in the United States and its territories. The NCLEX-PN also applies to licensed vocational nurses. The test consists of a multiple-choice exam with a minimum of 85 questions. As of December 2010, the cost is $200. Payment can be by credit card, check or money order. Prior to registration, the examinee must register with his preferred state board of nursing practice.

      Apply for a state license. Find a list of licensing contact information with the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). Pay additional fees per state requirements (ncsbn.org). Fill out the necessary information and return the form to the state licensing board.

      Direct the browser to PearsonVUE (vue.com). Click "Test Taker Services" and locate the NCLEX examination under "Health, Medicine, Nursing & Pharmacy." Complete the PeasonVue sign-up process.

      Complete the NCLEX registration using the bulletin-point tutorial provided. Then pay online or download the requisition form to mail with your payment.
