The national program is designed to make students more competent in child care settings through education and assessment; it is primarily designed for those working in a child care setting already. It also provides foundation for further education.
Courses include Guidance and the Early Childhood Environment, CDA Professional Resources, Foundations of Child Development, and Parent and Professional Relations. The school also offers various associate's degree programs and certificate programs in the field. A 17-credit-hour certificate is offered as well, along with an associate of science and associate of applied science degree. The first-semester curriculum of the associate of applied science is identical to the national CDA program. Both can be obtained entirely through online study.

This degree program requires the completion of 90 credit hours. Coursework consists of general education courses and core courses in early childhood education. Fifty-five credit hours in general education are required. Post offers its degree programs in accelerated eight-week formats that allow students to obtain their degree quickly. Students complete 27 credit hours in core general education courses that include studies in world history, literature, psychology and sociology.
