Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford provides an opportunity to learn photography online at the graduate level, but the school offers students an opportunity to pursue online studies in conjunction with studies abroad and domestically. The program at Hartford Art School has some residency requirements in order to meet the curriculum guidelines, but these residency requirements are minimal. Students meet for two weeks during the summer in Hartford each of the three summers they are in the program. Students also meet in a number of other locations like New York City and Berlin during the spring and fall semesters. In between the residency sessions, students complete the remainder of their coursework online. This combination of online study with experiential education through travel presents students with one of more unique opportunities in photography education. Upon completion of the program, students graduate with the Master of Fine Arts degree.
