Both the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) and the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) include the supervised practice internship required to take the national RD exam. Both programs qualify the student to take national RD exam.
The curricula for both programs vary slightly. For instance, the CPD includes courses such as Communication Competencies in Dietetics Practice, which are not included in the DPD. The CPD requires 127 credits for graduation while the DPD requires 125.

The University of Northern Colorado was founded in 1889 and has over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs. According to the university, generally 96 percent of its graduates are employed or attend graduate school within a year of graduating.
The university has an online Distance Dietetics Program (DDP), which offers nine courses online. The remainder of courses must be taken at a regionally accredited school where the student lives or transfers to. If he already has a bachelor's degree in dietetics, he can complete the requirements for the DPD online. He must enter the DPD program to be able to apply for dietetic internships while preparing to become a registered dietician.
